Platinum Jubilee Volunteers 

2nd May 2022

Planning has begun to mark this event (June 2nd-5th 2022), and to have a fun celebration for the village after two difficult years. Volunteers would be greatly welcomed by the MCA and the Parish Council.

Spring Coffee Morning

Wharfedale Branch of NSPCC Committee are holding a Spring Coffee Morning in Kirklands Main Hall on Saturday 2nd April from 10.00 am until 12 noon.

Townswomen’s Guild

3rd February 2022

We are a group of ladies from different backgrounds. Our regular meetings include a lunch club, a book club, theatre visits and outings. The entry cost is £2.50 and we welcome new members.

Architectural Plants – 18/11/21

Menston Gardeners welcome back Michael Myers for his presentation at 7.30pm on Thursday 18th November. Michael is a well known horticulturist with a wealth of experience in horticulture.

Christmas Fayre – 20/11/21

12th October 2021

Christmas Fayre will be held on Saturday 20 November 2021 from 10am to 12noon in the Methodist Church Hall. Lots of Christmas gifts, cards, paperback books, jigsaws, cakes, children’s crafts and refreshments.

Menston Gardeners

5th September 2021

Menston Gardeners will be recommencing their meetings of presentations, garden visits and socials for the year 2021/22.

These restart on Thursday 21st October at Kirklands at 7.30pm with Doug Stewart. His illustrated talk is entitled “The Way We Were “ – from 60 years ago to today. All past and new members welcome. Details on Notice board outside library.

The Friends & Family Hub

After a year of alternative arrangements due to COVID, we’re delighted to be back face-to-face from September 2021. We’ve kept going together with online information sessions, online support group meetings, one-to-one support, and walks in our wonderful countryside, and it is lovely to now be restarting meetings at Kirklands – such a great venue.

Service of the Word

25th July 2021

As you have probably heard by now, we are pleased to announce that we are resuming public worship within the church building. This will take the form of a short, simple service of the word at 4pm weekly from this Sunday (26 July). This is a first step back towards normality, and the church leadership will keep reviewing the situation and making changes as appropriate over the summer months.

Parish Church Closure

29th March 2021

Because of Covid-19, the Parish Church buildings must remain closed. However, there are prayer and reflection resources on our website updated most days, as well as craft ideas and other news and information.

St George’s Day Grant

6th April 2018

The St George’s Day Grant is a one-off grant to support community events held to celebrate St George’s Day ( Monday 23rd April 2018 ) or in the week in which it falls Friday 20th – Sun 29th April 2018 with events and activities across Bradford District.
