Be aware of Lottery Scams

There has recently been an increase in people receiving letters in the post saying that they have won a substantial amount of money on the Lottery. The letter explains how you have come to win this money and how to claim for your winnings.  Accompanying the letter is a Payment process requesting personal details including bank details. DO NOT FILL THIS IN.

If you receive any of these letters telephone the following number and report the matter to Consumer direct on 0845 4040506 or via the internet on www.consumerdirect.gov.uk.

Never reveal your bank details unless you are absolutely sure who you are giving the details to.

Please be aware of various scam/begging letters and emails that are currently being sent around our area. Please do not respond to them or ring any telephone numbers detailed on the literature.
