Warmfront in Menston!

With the cold weather currently being faced, here is some information which may be useful.  The Community warmth scheme is a real success story and Bradford is leading the Yorkshire and Humber region.  There is still a year to go so there is still opportunity to save pounds and pounds.

The scheme, which is being run in partnership with npower and EAGA plc, offers free cavity wall insulation where technically possible to all residents living in their homes or renting from a private landlord.

Residents aged 60 or over, or those on certain benefits, can also take advantage of free loft insulation.

All residents can benefit from a free home energy survey by a qualified surveyor. Please check the identification of anyone before you allow them into your home.

By the end of the two-and-a-half year programme over 170,000 households in the district will have been visited and an estimated £2.1 million per year saved on energy bills.  The scheme will also have prevented 10,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere.

If you are interested in the scheme, ring the Community Warmth free phone number (0800 6940418) or visit www.bradford.gov.uk/communitywarmth.
