Village calendar raises £1,140

Many thanks to everyone who bought the calendars, and also the businesses and individuals who helped to promote and sell them.  The final sum raised, including donations, is £1140, which is a fantastic achievement.  Roohi Lupton, the Yorkshire Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, is coming to Menston to receive the cheque from us; she has said how grateful she is for everyone's support.

A number of people have already asked whether we will be doing another calendar for 2011.  Well, that depends on you!  If anyone would like to send us their photos of Menston - landscape please, and preferably digital - we may well have enough to produce a 2011 calendar.  You can either email them to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or, if they are prints or on a CD, deliver them to 14 Main Street.  Please identify the photographer, in which month each photo was taken and also provide brief details of the location.  The deadline for photos will be the beginning of September, so check out your Autumn 2009 photos now!

As a way of maximising profit, it has been suggested that businesses or individuals may like to 'sponsor' a month - if anyone is interested in doing this please let us know.
